Summary: This article talks about how within Africa there are over 20 nations where groups are present that practice rituals that involve mutilation of females. This is usually either done for a religious purpose or "good tradition"
Thoughts: I don't see the positives by practicing this and their justification isnt exactly reason enough to do something like this to a human being. I believe there are other ways to reduce adultery and lust.
Connection to culture: The people in this area have been practicing this for centuries, first from ancient Greece then carried into the area from when Arabs began to cross the continent bringing new diverse things from their lands. They believe external female parts only cause lust and other impurities in society and they must be dealt with.
